DESCRIPTION:
A. Ericsson, St. Petersburg, marine chronometer with 56-hour winding indicator, mounted within original gimbaled brass tub and three-tier brass bound mahogany box with Ericsson plaque to front, top surface with inset silver shield with a raised gold monogram "PK," silvered dial of approximately 4 inch diameter signed "A. Ericsson, St. Petersburg, 1061," KWKS, fusee-drive with spring detent escapement, bi-metallic compensation balance with helical hairspring and diamond endstone, break circuit attachment, spotted damascene, s#1061 with matching serial number to dial, on tub and box.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, light discoloration and spotting to plates; nearly mint dial, but appears to have possibly been re-silvered; nearly mint hands; excellent tub and gimbals, very light plating loss to brass; excellent box with only light surface nicks and scrapes.
